Spectacle Removal / Lasik Surgery

 

Spectacle removal or refractive procedure ( commonly known as Lasik ) is performed by a trained Eye Specialist to eliminate the need to wear glasses or contact lenses. 

There are two main type of procedures of glass removal

1. Lasers 
       - LASIK

       -  PRK ( Photo Refractive Keratectomy)

       - SMILE ( Small Incision Lenticular Extraction )

2. Intraocular Surgery 

        - ICL ( Implantable Contact Lense)

        - Clear Lens Extraction

A meticulous compatibility examination by an Eye Doctor is crucial for the success of procedure . Approximately 70 % of the patients are found to be suitable for LASIK , rest of the patients may require Intraocular procedure .

Compatibility Factors :

Age should be more than 21 years

Refraction( Glass Number ) should have stabilisd ( constant for more than 6 months

Good Corneal Thickness
